Jesse Cook Bronx Concert reviews
Even during the best moments....
The sound system was the overriding problem with this concert. The volume was cranked up to ear-splitting levels, causing physical discomfort and audible distortion that ruined many high moments. My wife and I have been to many concerts over the years, and the last time we experienced decibels at this level was at a Debbie Gibson concert in the late 80s when we took our daughter.
I have enjoyed listening to Jesse Cook for years on albums I own and on TV. This was our first live concert. The format is 2 hours straight with no intermission, and it works. However, the sound quality at the concert was disappointing.
I have heard that the sound is the responsibility of Jesse Cook's sound engineer rather than the venue. If this is true, and considering that others have also complained about the sound at previous concerts, I believe the artist is doing a disservice to his fans and himself. Many, including myself, will not attend a concert in the future if it is presented in a similar manner.
